“For
though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For
the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to
destroy strongholds.” 2 Corinthians
10:3-4
It is August. For
many this means a change, for it marks the beginning of another school year. This brings with it many challenges and
adjustments for many within our church family.
Some will face the daunting task of moving from elementary to middle
school or from middle to high school.
Others will being sending their baby off to school for the first
time. Those who teach will be inundated
with work and others will feel the quietness of an empty home.
As a Christians, our call during this time is use our
mightiest weapon, prayer! We must begin
this school year in a war stance. We
must realize that the enemy is at work in the midst of the young among us and
we must be those who intercede on the behalf of others. Bothers and sisters in Christ, let us pray for the students and for the
teachers as they begin another year. Let
us pray for a safe learning environment and an atmosphere of love and kindness to
be present throughout the school. Let us
pray daily for the salvation for lost students, staff, and administration as
well as protection for all against depression, suicide, immorality, and
illness. Let our prayers be focused on
the needs and concerns of others so as to see Christ glorified. Let each of us be on bended knee and wage war
for the young hearts and minds!
